Our Nursery Classes
Nursery - International Day - Poland
In Penzance PM class this term, we have been enjoying our outside time especially rolling down the hill and have practiced mark making with some twigs we collected.
Penzance PM - Term 1
In St Erth and St Ives we have a great first term and have enjoyed looking at what happens in the Autumn time.
We read the book Leafman and went on walk to find beautiful autumn treasures and used these to make our own leaf crowns. We used lots of autumn treasure in our continuous provision for counting, scooping, printing in play dough and adding them to our mud kitchen. The children used the conkers to make marks and enjoyed tracing patterns using conkers, acorns and sticks.
This was followed by reading Pick a Pumpkin and we talked about the colours, sizes and weight of the pumpkin and even had our own pumpkin patch in our outside area, the children loved buying their pumpkins and washing them ready to draw faces on them.

Penzance PM - Term 3
In Penzance PM during term 3, we have been looking at winter and enjoyed playing with the snowballs.
We were very excited when the chicks came to visit.
We have been learning about sounds and used pots and pans to make different sounds. We then went on a listening walk to see what we could hear and also found the climbing equipment.
Penzance AM - Term 3
In Penzance AM, we have done lots of sensory activities to do with winter recently, creating icy pictures using shiny collage and paints, as well as finger painting snow onto trees which we loved!
We've also explored feelings and been speaking a lot about feeling happy, sad or angry etc. and found fun in creating all the faces as we sing.
We took some time to relax and enjoy our new colorful sensory light and did a great job identifying all the colors we could see.
Penzance class have also shown how kind and caring they are by welcoming in our new friends to the classroom and have enjoyed lots of collaborative play whilst building, in the home corner and reading books together!
St Erth & St Ives - Term 3
In St Erth and St Ives classes this week, we have celebrated Chinese New Year; the children made dragon heads and used them to create their own dances.
We wrote Chinese numbers in glitter, made Chinese new year wallets and ate Chinese food. The children learnt all about The Great Race story; we retold the story using masks and built obstacle courses outside.
